I have been active in photography for more than 50 years and have been a member of PhotoClub Vancouver since 2003. Street and plant photography have been my main photographic interests for some time. Much of my photography is in black and white. Form, line, texture and light are key elements in monochrome photography and I photograph to tell a story but also to highlight the subject’s form in ways that often produce an image that reveals qualities of the subject not ordinarily appreciated on casual inspection. The medium’s properties that enable a transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary, like alchemy, seem almost magical to me.
My photographs in the exhibition are examples of photographs telling a story extracted from the swirl of life. A sampling of my work can be seen on photoclubvancouver.com
